Greetings from the Yukon Territory! I'm Rob Hewer, your host at Spirit of the North Guides.
As your guide, I offer you 30 years of experience travelling the lakes and rivers of one of the most beautiful wilderness areas
in the world... Canada's Yukon Territory.
Since 1971 I have made my home on the shore of Lake Laberge, made famous by the Klondike Gold Rush and the poetry of Robert W. Service.
Over the years I have spent thousands of hours exploring the Yukon’s waterways, gaining a unique knowledge and understanding of the wilderness, its history and the ways of its wildlife. This is literally my "backyard".
I invite you to join me in exploring the region by canoe and/or power boat.
Whether your interests lie in fishing, photography, hiking, exploring our history or just plain
relaxing, the possibilities offered by the Yukon will impress you. Our famous local poet, Robert W. Service, said it best:
I am the land that listens,
I am the land that broods,
Steeped in eternal beauty,
Crystalline waters and woods.
I use the finest in boats, canoes and gear, North Face bags for your comfort, roomy modern tents uniquely suited to the north and of course, fine food cooked over an open fire in the peace and tranquility of the Yukon wilderness.
Come join us for an unforgettable adventure - we offer you our hospitality... in the
Spirit of the North.

Did you know? - that the Yukon Territory has some of the finest freshwater sport fishing in the world?
Click here to read what some of our clients have said about it (with some great photos, too!).
Did you know? - that our next-door neighbour, Alaska, has 1 person for every 0.92 square miles of land, while the Yukon Territory has 1 person
for every 6.18 square miles. Now that's Wilderness!
